All The Gurus Say They Are Your Friends In The Beginning
01/24/2009 - By Len Roe
Every time you do a search for a way to earn a little extra cash you find all kinds of opportunities from friendly people offering to help you reach some kind of financial satisfaction. People who really care about your well being.
You might find something like this, "Welcome to my site. We are here to help you become successful. My goal is to show you how to make a kazillion dollars in just 2 weeks online. Subscribe now to receive my free money making facts newsletter."
They really sound like they are going to help you. However, after you subscribe, you find out that the only thing free is the newsletter, which is usually about one page worth of text and most of that is a sales pitch.
You find very little information that will be of any benefit to you in your search for financial aid. But each newsletter you receive is very well written and contains something else that peaks your interest.
A free report or an introduction to a lifelong friend whom they just met online who can send you some more FREE money making advice. You may be invited to join in on a telesiminar. I have never joined in a telesiminar. I have to wonder where the money exchange is coming from.
The telesiminar is usually a long distance phone number which someone has to pay for. Who pays? Is it me? I am not about to pay for an hour long phone call for more information on what to send my money for or to.
Each day I receive these newsletters and many times there are more than one per day from the same person asking for my money for several different programs or for another newsletter.
There are many times that I get messages from several different people that contain the exact same body content. Its like someone sold the newsletter to a bunch of people to scatter it all over the net.
Some of those people a I have never heard from before but they still found my email address and put me on their list of active suckers. How they got my address I will never know.
Once you have subscribed to a newsletter it can be difficult to remove yourself. There is supposed to be an unsubscribe link somewhere on the page, usually close to the bottom. Some have for some reason seen fit to exclude such a link and some of those who do have the link have found a way to make the link a dead one. One that just doesn't work.
Those that do work say it will take up to ten days to remove you from their records. Why should it take 10 days? It only took a second to add you to the list.
Lets face it, everyone who has a newsletter has something they want to sell you. Even my own newsletter has something you can purchase. However, what I have to offer is listed only on the bottom of the letter and it is your option to purchase or not to purchase. No pressure or false promise is included.
The content of the letter is going to be of some assistance to the reader or there will be no letter that week.
That is right, I said that WEEK. I do not send more than one letter per week and if you want to unsubscribe just say so in an email and it will be done.
Just keep in mind, those newsletters we all subscribe to are written by professional writers. People who study the ways of writing ads that bring results. People who have studied why people do what they do and how to make you do what they want you to do.
Nuff said? Ya, nuff said!
